BudOn June 8, 2020 the world as Dana knew it altered. The anchor of the herd, her life and business unexpectedly died. Bud had been sick earlier in the day, had seen a vet and received medications. The plan was for the vet to return in the morning with more medication. He crossed the rainbow bridge around 10pm. His legacy was Dana and all the other lives he touched. He was generous, kind, honest and fun to be around. He had been with Dana for 22 years, the last 13 years of his life at Hidden Cedar Stables.
TanglesShortly after we purchased the farm, Dana’s inlaws found a cat tangled in a fishing net in an old boat. She was 4 weeks old - fit into the palm of her hand. They called her "Tangles." Tangles was the ULTIMATE barn cat. She was a friend, a constant companion. She would hang outside with us during equine assisted psychotherapy sessions and even go on the trampoline with the kids. She always welcomed people to the office door and would drool like crazy when getting affection.
On April 15, 2022 She returned to the farm after a 3 day hiatus, in very, very bad shape. Dana was thankful she made it back however; it was evident she was not going to get better. She crossed the rainbow bridge on April 16, 2022 after being at Hidden Cedar Stables for 12 years. |
ArchieArchie was brave, kind and could usually put a smile on someone's face with his friendly greetings. He loved his routine and would often be found standing in the run-in - peeking his head out to say Hi. He was sure of himself and led the herd with pride. He was Dana’s heart horse and they had a special bond like no other.
On December 30th 2024 he suffered a fatal heart attack or stroke. He was not alone in his final moments and was surrounded by his herd (horse and human). He had been at Hidden Cedar Stables for 11 years. Chewy & TaliaChewy was a 14 year old border collie cross that Dana and her partner had raised from a puppy. He went everywhere and did everything with them. He was always so energetic and acted like a puppy his entire life. Shortly after the farm was purchased, Dana and her partner adopted a rescue dog – Talia she was about 2-3 years old. She was a double merle and fully deaf. The two of them played constantly and were the best of friends. Talia had past trauma but that never stopped her from being part of our family. They aged gracefully with us. Chewy passed away on February 3, 2023 due to lymphoma. Sadly, Talia passed away suddenly only 28 days later on March 2, 2023.

GeeAfter Bud passed in 2020, Gee became the anchor of true connection equine assisted psychotherapy. He was also the pride and joy of Dana’s kids – teaching them the ropes of riding and horses. He crossed the rainbow bridge in the early mornings of May 7, 2024 after a 20 hour what turned to be fatal bout of colic. He left a huge legacy of healing, love and learning behind him. He was gentle, kind, stoic and trusting. On May 6th he was visited by so many of the people that loved him. Dana will never forget that day or those moments. Thank you to all that showed up for him during his last day on earth. He had been at Hidden Cedar Stables for 7 years.
