What is Equine Assisted Psychotherapy?

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is an alternative form of experiential therapy that includes horses as partners in the therapeutic process. We explore experiential equine activities designed to enhance your overall inner potential and decrease symptoms of mental health concerns.
This modality of therapy can help treat mental health conditions like post traumatic stress responses, anxiety and depression. Horses have an innate ability to unconditionally accept us for who we are. They model healthy emotional behaviours and coping strategies. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy can help with strengthening relationships, working through life challenges and transitions, improving coping skills, social skills, emotional regulation and increasing confidence. Most of the equine assisted psychotherapy is unmounted.

What is Talk Therapy?

Talk therapy encompasses a diverse range of approaches designed to address emotional and psychological issues through verbal communication. These approaches can include trauma focused, cognitive behaviour, psychodynamic and humanistic therapies. Dana also uses art and play therapy techniques to encourage creative expression, explore emotions and enhance healing.
Dana emphasizes understanding of trauma and attachment on the psyche, which can lead to personal growth and self-acceptance. All forms and types of therapy are tailored to your individual needs aiming to help promote self-awareness and healing. Dana encourages you to show up as you are and will hold space for you to process feelings.
